Cheap, cheerful and to the point
I own the 1210 but the print quaitly is the same for the 1205 (the only diffrent is in scan quailty). This is the first HP printer ive brought am am really happy with it. I use it for printing art work and its never done me wrong so far. It cost me about £45 - £50 for both ink cartridges which lasted about 6 months (bearing in mind I print at quite high dpi full A4 size).
I like this printer that much, Im getting a 1205 for a family member.
I dont think youll fine a better all-in-one printer at this price.

At last it works
First I have to congratulate Amazon on a fantastic service.
I returned my original printer on Monday and had a replacement on my desk working
by Friday morning. Excellent service
And at last its working fine. I can only assume I had a rogue one to begin.
HP tried hard to fix the problem but in the end instructed me to return the product.
My replacement is working fine so far.
The original problem was that the first 11 or so lines were always smudged. I have seen that I am not the only one with
this problem. I hope HP take notice. If you get this problem, save time and tell HP you want a replacement.
They will give you a case ID. Then send back to Amazon quoting the case ID and you will get a replacement
within a few days.

A little belter at an unbelievable price
I spend my working days as an IT manager for a internet company mostly dealing with orders of large enterprise IT solutions including purchasing high end printers.

Hoping not to be bias in any way, I was on the lookout for a family printer for home use for an insatiable 5-year-old Bob the builder fan. As I had a much more expensive printer at the time, I anticipated that this would disappear to the depths of a bedroom and never be seen again.

However, when the box arrived the sheer compactness of the unit, its multi-function capabilities, its ease of use and great print quality meant that it is now my first choice, home-use peripheral unit. And the more expensive printer is now up with the kids.

Photo quality shots are pretty good on the right paper, it runs off more than enough copies in good time and even the noise is quite reasonable for a small home office.

Scanning has ample dpi... and realistic colour reproduction. Nothing more to say.

Copying, to be honest, is hardly used but once again colour reproduction is pretty good for most copying requirements.

And to really nail my colours to the wall, weve also got a couple for work for proofing and mock-ups - something which we normally reserve for its more expensive cousins.

All-in-all this is a little belter for the price. You wont be disappointed.
